Discover the Pacific region’s rich and varied indigenous culture at the impressive Tjibaou Center, designed by the world famous architect Renzo Piano. Your guide will first introduce you to New Caledonia and Noumea, its capital, and then take you onto the Tjibaou Cultural Center, named after the Kanak leader, Jean Marie Tjibaou. Listen to fascinating tales of Kanak myths and beliefs on a guided walk leading to the three imposing, traditional Melanesian huts from three different regions. The center showcases world class exhibits and collections of both Kanak and Pacific cultures.

Back inside the main air-conditioned center, your guide will show you the various exhibition rooms, housing precious ritual masks and costumes, totem poles and sculptures – all of exceptional quality.
