Upon leaving the terminal, you will drive by the local markets, rue de Victoire where most of Noumea’s banks are located. Drive onto Faubourg Blanchot, the old residential area, and around the picturesque Promenade Vernier before driving up to Ouen Toro Park.
During the hike, you will see endemic varieties of trees / plants like Sandalwood, ‘Gaïac' (lignum vitae), and beautiful views of the park and lagoon. This easy paced hiking trail will allow you to discover and notice how unique the New Caledonian dry forest is.
You will finish the hiking tour at the very top of Ouen-Toro where you can enjoy a panoramic view of the bays, beaches and across the lagoon. You will be able to refresh with a cool drink while enjoying the views of Noumea and its surrounding islets including the Amedee ligththouse island, 25 km from Noumea.
It will then be time to head back to the ship passing by Anse Vata Beach, Baie des Citrons, Baie de l'Orphelinat and the Southern Government building.
