About Isle of Pines

Only twenty minutes flight from Noumea, the Isle of Pines is a world apart, a dream place. White sand beaches, turquoise sheltered lagoon, clear, warm water.

Each bay has its own personality: Kuto, Kanumera, Upi and the natural pool of Oro. Not only is the landscape enchanting, the island's locals, the Kunies are very kind and welcoming with their beautiful smiles.

Visitors to the island will come away with special memories of traditional canoe trips and bougnas cooked on hot stones. Being here is like taking a step back in time. What  was previously a convict settlement is today a paradise and never fails to impress.

This beautiful shell shaped island, is 18 kilometres long and 14 across. Some people choose to explore it on bikes, while others opte for discovering its underwater life, diving  with oxygen tanks or snorkelling.

 

About Ouvea

Ouvea is very often called "The island closest to paradise". Its vegetation and climate are exceptional, the sand is very white and fine. The inhabitants of this paradisiacal island are very welcoming, and in
spite of the lack of leisure facilities.

What to see: The sculptors of Ouvea,the soap factory of Ouvea,the coconut oil distillery,the coconut fiber rope makers,the underwater world, and the beach of Mouli (25 km of white sand).

 

About Lifou

Lifou is the largest of the Loyalty Islands. Its beaches are superb, the vegetation very dense, there are big forests, huge caves, and a wide variety of landscapes. The people are very friendly and there are good hotel structures with
numerous activities awaiting you.

What to see: The sculptors of Lifou, the vanilla plantations, the beach of Luengoni,the underwater world, and the cliffs of Dokin.

 

About Mare

Mare is fringed with very ragged cliffs and you will also find inlets of fine sand. The central plain is made up of numerous caves as well as natural swimming pools dating back to the time of the old lagoon...

What to see: The sculptors of Mare, The Yeiwene Yeiwene cultural centre, the natural swimming pools...
